Invest in a half-day to learn what it takes and how to do it successfully. You might be interested in this for yourself, a family member or a friend.
Save Money, Overcome Isolation, and Enjoy Life.
Home is sanctuary and the idea of having someone sharing can at first be rejected because it seems insecure. Choosing a good home-mate is the key and the right person/people can bring comfort, companionship and a sense of safety.
“Share Housing: Is it the Right Choice for You?” is your opportunity to learn more about how it might work. In this half-day workshop you will learn:
- Benefits of sharing housing.
- Dangers of social isolation to physical and emotional health.
- Guidelines for living well with others.
- A step by step process for selecting a good home-mate.
The workshop is interactive with exercises and group discussion as well as some lecture. There will be lots of opportunity for questions and answers.
All attendees will receive a copy of Sharing Housing, A Guidebook for Finding and Keeping Good Housemates.
The workshop will be taught by Annamarie Pluhar, founder of Sharing Housing Inc., and the author of Sharing Housing, A Guidebook for Finding and Keeping Good Housemates.
Below are comments from former students who have taken workshops taught by Annamarie:
“Annamarie has a relaxed manner, a supportive confidence and presents all of the information needed to get people to the next step. She offers both information about the process and her experiences that can move people to the next step. She adapts presentations for the audience. She creates confidence in the audience that they would be able to overcome any challenges to making shared housing arrangement and assuring it’s continuity.” Jan Hively, Age-Friendly Yarmouth
